Hormone fluctuations during perimenopause and menopause can lead to disruptive symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, weight gain, insomnia, and more, causing many women to say “I just don’t feel like myself”. Additionally, declining estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels in women contribute to elevated cholesterol, decreased bone density, hypertension, and insulin resistance, increasing the risk of heart disease, and osteoporosis. Hormone optimization with bio-identical forms of testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone has been shown to reduce inflammation, support cardiovascular health, improve brain function, and maintain bone strength, helping women feel their best as they age.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Women go through the menopause transition at different ages; however, the majority of women enter perimenopause between the ages of 45 and 55, with most reaching menopause at the average age of 52. If you are within 10 years of menopause or experiencing symptoms of perimenopause or menopause, you would likely be a good candidate and could benefit from HRT for symptom relief and bone health.

  • The risks associated with HRT often depend on types and combination of hormones used. When done with the proper guidance, HRT is very safe. Benefits outweigh risks for healthy women starting treatment around menopause (under 60 and within 10 years of menopause). Mild, transient side effects can include breast tenderness, bloating, and mood changes.

  • You may start to notice improvements within days to weeks (better sleep, mood, energy), with most people noticing significant relief in 4 to 6 weeks. Full optimization and consistent results can take 3 to 6 months, depending on individual factors like your metabolism, severity of imbalance, and delivery method (patch, creams, pill, etc).

  • Synthetic hormones are man-made substances that are designed to act like the hormones your body naturally produces. While they are similar, they are not exactly the same as your body’s hormones at the molecular level. Because of these differences, synthetic hormones may interact with the body’s hormone receptors differently, which can affect how well they work and what side effects may occur. Bioidentical hormones, on the other hand, come from natural sources and are made to be an exact match to the hormones produced by the human body. Because their structure is identical, bioidentical hormones are able to function more like your body’s own hormones and are often better recognized and used by the body.

  • We operate outside of the insurance model. Your membership fee covers all follow-up appointments and prescription management. Prescriptions are sent to your local pharmacy, where you may use your insurance or available coupons to help offset the cost.
