Testosterone plays an important role in many aspects of men’s health, including bone strength, muscle mass, fat distribution, red blood cell production, facial and body hair growth, sex drive, and sperm production.
Testosterone levels typically peak in the late teens and early adulthood. In your 30s–40s, levels naturally decline by about 1% per year. While this decrease is often part of normal aging, low testosterone can sometimes be caused by a medical condition called hypogonadism, in which the body does not produce enough testosterone. For men with low testosterone, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) may help improve symptoms.
Benefits of TRT include increased energy, improved mood (reducing depression/anxiety), enhanced libido and sexual function, increased muscle mass and bone density, fat loss, sharpened mental focus, and improved sleep, helping men feel healthier and more vital.

For many men, medically supervised testosterone injections are a safe and effective treatment for low testosterone. Lifestyle changes—such as improving sleep, exercising regularly, and managing stress—can also help increase testosterone levels.
While understanding the role of lifestyle changes can be empowering, it can also feel overwhelming. Habits take time to change, and not all factors are easily within your control.
At Sol, our goal is to help men understand their options and the tools available to them. We support and empower men to focus on what they can control so they can live healthier, more fulfilling lives and feel confident in how they show up each day. For many men, this includes twice-weekly testosterone injections combined with a commitment to sustainable lifestyle improvements.

Yes! When taken correctly and monitored by a healthcare professional, testosterone replacement therapy is generally safe.

Labs are checked every 8–12 weeks initially while we determine the testosterone dose that’s right for you. During this time, we monitor your hormone levels along with any additional labs needed to ensure safety and watch for potential side effects. Once you’re stable on a dose that feels right, lab monitoring can be reduced to every six months or longer.

There are alternatives, but they are not ideal. Topical testosterone is available, but it’s often more expensive, absorption varies widely, and it can be difficult to control the dose. There’s also a risk of accidentally transferring it to loved ones or pets.
For most men, injections are simple and manageable. They use a very small needle in the deltoid (arm) muscle, and many clients who were initially nervous about needles learn to inject themselves without issue.
-
Yes—injecting testosterone affects the body’s natural feedback loop that regulates hormone production. When the body senses it’s receiving testosterone from an external source, it may slow down or even temporarily stop its own production. If you decide to stop injections, it’s important to taper them gradually rather than stopping abruptly. This allows your body’s natural production to restart and the feedback loop to readjust.

Testosterone shots are not the best option if you are actively trying to start a family or plan to have more children. They can lower sperm production while in use due to their effect on the body’s hormonal feedback loop. However, there are other medications and approaches that can help boost testosterone without affecting fertility. This is an important discussion to have with your provider.
